Q: What makes Cranial Cradle Pads different?
Cranial Cradle Pads are crafted with an ultra-firm, high-density foam that is 2.75" thick, which is about two to two and a half times as thick as most pads that come with bassinets and diaper changing tables! Cranial Cradle Pads also have a unique sleeping area that are specially designed for your baby's comfort and with your baby's health in mind. Its sculpted, contoured pod area helps to relieve external pressure on the cranium itself to help reduce the risks of plagiocephaly, or "flat-head syndrome" in infants.

Q: How do I clean Cranial Cradle Hospital Size Pads?

Q: Why haven't my other children suffered from plagiocephaly/flat-head syndrome after using a traditional bassinet pad, diaper changing table pad or crib mattress?
In 1994 a campaign called "Back to Sleep" went into effect in the U.S. and medical professionals formally recognized that they believed lying infants on their backs while sleeping reduced the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome, better known as SIDS. The theory 'back is best' from this campaign is still the standard for infants today. However, some infants are more susceptible to cranial issues than other infants and the pressure exerted on their heads from the supine position can increase the risk of cranial deformities such as positional plagiocephaly/flat-head syndrome. It is usually unknown which infants are more susceptible to these issues which is why it is important to take preventative measures such as lots of 'tummy time' while awake, practicing the Repositioning Method each time they are laid down to sleep, and through using Cranial Cradle bedding which may reduce these risks, decreasing your child's susceptibility.
